IVY

An original embroidered artwork.

Created in 2023 this artwork depicts an Ivy leaf rendered in red coloured thread.

English ivy (Hedera helix) is an evergreen perennial. As well as offering ground cover it is a great climber, as it is in my garden so is also known as a woody vine. A leaf was picked and held to the sun to get the vein pattern you see in the finished embroidery.

Materials:

Thread, pins on Fabriano 50% cotton art paper

Embroidery size approximately 10 x 12cm

Framed in a matt white, shadow box frame with AR70 UV protective, conservation museum art glass.

Suitable for wall hanging or free standing.
